Silica sand forms the basis of most equestrian surfaces. The rounded, sub-angular shape of our silica sand gives a firm, yet cushioned ride. Silica sand should be combined with either stabilising fibres or a topping of rubber chippings to prevent it from riding deep. When used as an arena surface, we recommend a compacted depth of 100mm for most disciplines.
